Buer demon poster portrays Buer, described in the Ars Goetia as a great President who teaches philosophy, logic, and the virtues of herbs and plants. The text also says he heals human ailments. This artwork shows a snarling, lionlike creature with shaggy, overlapping limbs dominating a rocky foreground. Behind it, a ruined fortress and river valley recede beneath a cloudy sky. Muted charcoal, olive-gray, and stone tones lend the scene a brooding, menacing mood.
